Over the years Les Harris Jewellers has built up a large clientele and they are now serving 3 generations within some families. It all started back in 1946 when Les at the tender age of 14 started his working life at F.A Welch in Liverpool where he completed his apprenticeship at the ripe age of 21! In March 1959 Les started his self employed career as a working jeweller, opening his own workshop in Liverpool and this was followed 3 years later with the launch of his first shop. In 1969 after marrying Carolyn the young couple moved to Frodsham and that autumn their shop in the town opened for business. This was actually next door to their current shop, in a small room off the Queens Head Pub, which subsequently became their business premises for almost ten years. It wasn’t until February 1978 that they finally moved into their present shop at 90, Main Street, Frodsham after renovating the condemned cottage. Carolyn initially helped with the book keeping before progressing to being in charge of the general running of the business. Ably assisted by Niki who joined the family business four years ago following ten successful years in sales. The ‘Harris’s’ passion for jewellery must certainly run in their blood as Les and Carolyn’s son, Simon followed in his fathers footsteps and now designs his own collection, ‘Flipside Jewellery’ in Abersoch. Six months ago Jenny was very excited to join the team and works full time alongside Carolyn and Niki, visiting the trade shows in London and she delights in bringing fresh collections to Frodsham. This year saw the addition from up and coming designers from the UK and Australia including Charmian Beaton, Collete Waudby and the beautiful, colourful collection from Riley Burnett. The team doesn’t stop there, Sue has been a long-standing member of the Jewellers with over thirty years knowledge and expertise in the industry which is invaluable to the business. Jo recently joined to assist in this busy thriving business on a part time basis and Lauren helps out on a Saturday ensuring exceptional customer service with personal attention guaranteed. Les Harris Jewellers offer quality products and value for money. Their product and technical knowledge enables them to offer a whole range of services including jewellery valuations, gold buying, watch repairs and servicing, bead re-stringing and much more! Jewellery repairs are either carried out on the premises or in the case of stone and setting repairs they are sent to their specialist workshop ensuring personal care and attention and a quick service.
