Myself and 17 intrepid explorers embarked on ‘Beach Body Boot Camp’ throughout May, and the results we all achieved were amazing!A 4 week intensive exercise and nutrition programme, it certainly lived up to its name! Prior to ‘camp’ we were issued with a nutrition plan to adhere to, and we all joined Mel’s blog, which was to become a form of communication, daily motivation, recipe ideas and encouragement to each other over the 4 weeks.
Day 1 arrived and most of us had set at least 2 alarm clocks for the 6.15am start! During the four weeks we trained 3 times a week and I never thought I’d say it but the early start really set me up for the rest of the day! At the end of the first week several people shared their success with a reported 4lbs off and 1” off all the important places! Mel pointed out that the inches were more important as muscle actually weighs more than fat! Mid second week and another great achievement - a 7lbs loss and reports of increased energy and improvement in sleep patterns, including less snoring! We all agreed that we were feeling fabulous and it made us realise that the food (and drink) we consume has a lot to do with how we feel. The exercise sessions were great fun and varied. Mel provided easy and hard options and always motivation. The exercises involved intensive interval training using body weight for resistance (no running)! designed to burn calories long after you have finished exercising - ideal for blasting away stubborn fat. And blast they did… I myself lost 7lbs and 4.5” but the best achievement was a whopping 13lbs and 9” loss! The 4 weeks flew by and many of us have signed up for the next camp so it can’t have been that bad!! What are you waiting for? |
