A group of villagers have got together and a committee has been formed in Helsby to organise a Christmas community event and a date has been set - Saturday 3rd December. They are hoping to put on a festive celebration for that day and evening and it sounds as if it could be a great event..
There are lots of ideas - A Christmas tree, lights, activities, stalls, food and drink, carol singing etc etc. At the moment, it is still in the planning stages and some money needs to be raised to get insurance etc in place for the event to go ahead which is what the committee are presently working on. If anyone in the community would like to get involved, sponsor, volunteer or make a donation towards the event, then they would be very welcome!
