Brownies Plea Print E-mail

A Frodsham Brownie pack has sent out an urgent plea to any would be volunteers to help save their Monday night unit. After many years of dedication to Guiding the current leaders Gill Warburton and Sylvia Clayton are bowing out as Guiders of the 2nd Frodsham pack.

Without new leaders coming forward quickly the thriving pack with 16 Brownies will close. With other Brownie units in the area almost all at full capacity, this could mean that some Brownies will have nowhere to go and will have to wait until a place becomes available at another unit.

Girl Guiding UK Weaver Division Commissioner, Nikki Barker said, “We desperately need to keep this Unit open so if you are interested in becoming a leader or Unit helper please contact me on 07767 477171 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . It is only by finding people who will be committed to assist on a weekly basis as Guiders that the unit will stay open.”

Additionally volunteer help is also needed at the Rainbow Unit, Guide Unit and the new Senior Section.

Training will be provided to all new leaders along with as much help and support required do the role. Volunteering is fun and rewarding, and the most important attributes needed are energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to try new activities.
