We were delighted to be invited along to the opening of the new Italian restaurant at Amoré in Frodsham.

What a transformation - the open plan area with the addition of several windows has created a much lighter restaurant. This is enhanced by the open theatre kitchen and views over the new roof garden which all add to the extra feeling of space.

The cream leather and cherry wood furnishings and beautiful bar area create a feeling of opulence but that’s not reflected in the price with main courses starting from £6.95.

Guests were treated to a selection of dishes from the main menu and everything we tried was absolutely delicious.

A variety of Antipasti was available, I can recommend the Funghi ripieni - stuffed mushrooms to you and I! The Asparagi con prosciutto was also very good, which was asparagus and air cured ham with a poached egg and balsamic syrup.

This was followed by a variety of pasta dishes and pizza’s to try. The thin crust pizza’s are hand rolled to order and baked to perfection in the new authentic clay oven, I particularly enjoyed the Boscaiola pizza, which was topped with wild mushrooms, pesto and chilli.

So onto Secondi Del Giorno. Guests enjoyed fillet steaks, slow cooked lamb shank, spiced sea bream or salmon fillet wrapped and roasted in prosciutto. The portions were very generous and compliments were plentiful.

Traditional tiramisu and wonderful Italian ice cream followed but for many of us that would have to wait until the next visit!
