Youth Association Successfully Raises Money But Local Adults are in Short Supply... Print E-mail

Frodsham Youth Association, a small but important local charity successfully bid to Connexions Cheshire and Warrington for £40,000 to upgrade and modernize the building on Fluin Lane in Frodsham. About 100 children and young people use the building per week. The building is open 4 nights per week and offers a very important service to children and young people in Frodsham and Surrounding areas. Recent attempts by the Management Committee to recruit more adults to become involved have not been successful. In order for this important resource to continue adults from the local community do need to come forward to give the project sustainability.

Kathy Hardy, Vice Chair of FYA added “this is a great building and the kids come and use it. At a time when communities want a place for their kids to go and be safe you would think that parents would come forward to lend a hand. The young people love it, but I am afraid that we will have to close unless local adults are prepared to support us. One or two hours per week would be amazing and not much to ask”

The next Management Committee Meeting is on the 12th May at 7.00pm and it is hoped that New Committee Members will come forward. For further information call FYA on 01928 731440.
