Helsby Golf Club Captain Martin Mann and Lady Captain Sheila Fenwick undertook a marathon charity challenge playing 4 rounds of Golf in 4 countries on 21 June 2010 (the longest day of the year) in aid of the Club charity Powered Wheelchair Appeal.

They had a superb day which started with them teeing off in the dark at 3.25am at Cairndhu Golf Club in Northern Ireland! The subsequent rounds were played at Wigtownshire Golf Club in Scotland, Padeswood & Buckley Golf Club in North Wales and they finally arrived back on home turf at Helsby Golf Club at 7.30pm.

The approximate amount raised (Still to be confirmed) is around £7,500.00 - £8,000.00 for the Powered Wheelchair Appeal which supports deserving local less abled youngsters. The money was raised by sponsorship and also had many donations including £1000 from Frodsham & Helsby Rotary and other generous donations from local businesses in Helsby & Frodsham - many thanks to all involved.
