Carole and Steve are always coming up with new ideas at The Helsby Arms, keeping up with the latest technology and trends and providing a service to their customers that goes above and beyond expectations. Take the book exchange for example, this came about following the closure of Borders where Carole and Steve often enjoyed browsing the book shelves followed by a coffee. Not one to sit on her laurels Carole decided to do something to fill this void and created her own book exchange where you are welcome to swap one of your books for one of theirs and what’s more, it’s completely free!
Another popular idea from The Helsby Arms is the Free Parcel Service that they provide so that you don’t have to wait in for a delivery, how great is that? There’s also free wi-fi, newspapers and magazines, Diners Loyalty Card, Hot and Cold Sandwiches, Snacks and Nibbles Blackboard, A la Carte and Market Menus plus Specials Board, Young Persons menu - the list goes on and on!
As usual, we really looked forward to choosing from the regularly changing menu and enjoyed our meal immensely.

Two for One on all main courses at The Plum Tree.
There’s nothing nicer than downing tools on a Sunday and popping out for tea. That’s just what we did a couple of weeks ago when Chris, myself and the boys visited The Plum Tree in Dunham Hill.

We certainly did!
My very good friend Diane celebrated a special Birthday (ok she was 40 - sshh!) with a girly night out at Amoré in July, and what a great night we had.
The evening started with pre dinner drinks downstairs in the bar before heading up to the beautiful Italian Restaurant upstairs where we were welcomed by Fernandes and Renata. As we chatted and Di opened presents and cards we nibbled on Garlic Bread Arrabiata, topped with tomato and fresh chilli - very moorish.

It was lovely to be asked back to The Helsby Arms once again to sample the great culinary delights on offer. New Head Chef, Lee Fish has brought with him fresh ideas and skill to enhance this popular eating establishment. Licensee's Carole and Steve were delighted when Lee agreed to join them in April especially as with his previous employer they were awarded Cheshire Life Restaurant of the year 2008/2009.

Celebrate in Style
For Chris’s birthday in August we decided to celebrate with a romantic dinner for two at Heathercliffe Country House Hotel and Restaurant. The fine Victorian house, set amidst its own ten acre estate of park and woodland provides a beautiful setting whatever the occasion. From Weddings and Christenings to sad farewells, Heathercliffe’s staff are very friendly and happy to accommodate your requirements. |
