at Dandelion Gifts and Traditional Toys
Louise goes back to her roots after eight years away...
Having sold The Cottage Tea Shop eight years ago to concentrate on Dandelion Gifts and Traditional Toys, Louise found that more increasingly she was missing the tea room environment and several months ago decided to fulfil her yearning. Following the refurbishment between Christmas and New Year, Dandelion Gifts and Traditional Toys recently opened a Tea Room within the spacious shop.
Louise had been at the helm of her Tea Shop for 13 years prior to selling it, as well as running the little toy and gift shop next door. During this period of success she was featured in two popular guides - Tea Shops of Great Britain and The Cheshire Food Trail. Louise was also thrilled and surprised when they were highly praised in a feature in the Telegraph (with particular reference to the Welsh Rarebit - her Mum’s family recipe), after a mystery shopper had visited! The toy and gift shop was also listed in The Guardian’s Small Business Guide, another great achievement.
Louise has always been very lucky to have the support and help from family and friends. Cakes and baking have played a big part in the family, her Mum and Aunty made all of the cakes for The Cottage Tea Shop and their sister decorated the wedding and celebration cakes at Young’s Bakery, High Street, Frodsham, which I’m sure many of the older residents of Frodsham will remember!
This support from friends and family has continued with her new venture particularly with the refurbishment, in which Louise’s son’s business, DN Joinery has played a massive part. Dan installed partition walls and the new kitchen, he can be contacted on 07886648156, www.dannicksonjoinery.co.uk.
The gorgeous hand painted chairs and mirrors in soft pastels are the work of Carolyn Lloyd at Miss Daisy Chalk Furniture Creations - 01829 262426,

Louise would like to say a big thank you to all of her family and friends for their help, support and encouragement. From making the beautiful lamp shades and cushions to helping out serving, it’s much appreciated.
