NOW OPEN at Gleave’s Garden Centre
Gleave’s Garden Centre is owned by Joe Halpin and his wife Pam and Joe’s daughter Sal helps to run the business day to day. Sal’s passion for the business is very apparent and when earlier this year Joe came up with the proposal of a café at the garden centre he and Sal threw themselves whole heartedly into making it become a reality. With the help of Sal’s husband Mike, they set about researching local suppliers, listening to what their customers wanted and happily visiting many other café’s across the country, as Sal says “At Gleave’s we prefer not to do something than do it wrong!” Sal is thrilled that Mike has changed his job at Gleave’s to join the café and admits that she couldn’t have done it without him.
Gleave’s has employed staff for the last 30 plus years and knows that local staff care about local development, local enterprises, local ideas and local improvement. All of the staff are very helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and talented. It’s one big happy family and once a person
is employed here, they very rarely leave. Joe really looks after his staff and has always inspired them. The Café has the same priorities - the friendly staff and great chef’s make an important addition to the very successful team, all of which are greatly valued. The business simply couldn’t run without them.
